The Best Burger This Side of Texas

 Day 16 -- August 14, 2021

At 46 degrees this morning -- the lowest so far -- we originally plan for this to be our last day in The Enchanted Circle before turning southeast toward Texas.  However, we do enjoy the temperatures that are cooler here than at our home in Silverlake.  In the late morning we drive into Eagle Nest to mail a letter at the Post Office, and have lunch at Eagle Nest Cafe.  We need to get there no later than noon, because they close at 2p, or when they run out of food, which happened the last time we were there.  Forunately we had already been served.

When we had visited the Comanche Creek Brewing Company nearby, the bartender, Hollie, said they don't serve food, but she recommended Eagle Nest Cafe as the best place for miles around to have a burger.  She was right.

Back in Texas when we would go to What-a-burger restaurant, I would enjoy my burger so much that I would laughingly say, "If God ever made a better burger, He kept it for Himself."

I must change that, now that I have found a better burger!  We choose a table outside on the patio, socially distancing from others.
