The Perfect Happy Hour Spot

 Day 56 - Thursday, September 8, 2022

"321 RV Park,"  Maiden, NC

While still in Carrollwoods Campground last night the dark black clouds dropped lots of water on us, leaving puddles all around the RVs.  This is the day we plan to leave, so someone's shoes will get a bit damp while disconnecting us from the site.  The temperature has dropped overnight to a pleasant 70 degrees.

This morning it is only cloudy as we drive away at 9:38a and take Swamp Fox Highway back through Tabor City and head west toward Whiteville.  We are enjoying the state of North Carolina, but are making our way back to Texas.

Upon our arrival to 321 RV Park this afternoon, Herb finds the perfect spot for a picnic or Happy Hour.   Adirondack chairs circle around a fire pit, but since the temperature has risen to 78 degrees, we won't build a fire tonight.  We think all the children in the campground must be napping, because the playground nearby is empty.

The confirmation for our stay here had given us a gate code, so we were delighted that we could let ourselves into the gated park.

Our site is level gravel with a concrete pad, and having arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon, we still have time to explore.

It is still daylight after dinner, so we enjoy an evening walk around the park - with no puddles to dodge, - while watching the fluffy white and pink clouds building in the sky and wondering if we will get rain tonight.

Later in the evening we see the moon high in the clear sky and feel confident that the rain has moved on to the East.
