Continued Adventure in the Boondocking Area

 Day 14 -- August 12,2021

Even with the cool temperature of 51 degrees this morning, we know the sun will warm to around 78, but there is a change of rain, so for these reasons we decide to take our morning walk early.  I think my wind suit will be warm enough and 9 o'clock is a good time to go.

Walking down the hill into the Eagle Nest Lake State Park, we see a fisherman casting from his boat, and hope he is having good luck.

We are overtaken by a truck pulling a boat to launch into the lake.   As he backs his boat down, I notice there are docks on both sides of the ramp.

Success!  The boat floats!

Continuing our walk into the areas for campers' boon docking, we are amused at the yard art of a boat with 'planted' white metal flowers that reflect the sun.

Herb points on a map of the Eagle Nest Lake Trail to where Sweet Georgia Brown 'lives.'   Icons show what is allow and not allowed.  So we can hike, walk a dog, ride a horse, use binoculars to see views far in the distance, snow ski (later when it gets 'chilly'), ride a bike, but no ATVs are allowed.

Further, the rule is for bikes to yield to hikers and horseback riders.  Makes sense to me.

The closeup shows our street, Marina Way.

There are several picnic pavilions with fire pits in the area, and even a paved path for the handicapped to take their wheelchairs.  Our round trip walk lasts one hour and fifteen minutes.  We earn two 'stands' on our Apple watches.

As we like to do, we have Happy Hour in our lawn chairs in front of the motorhome and enjoy the view.  I notice the hanging flower baskets on the porch of the office are swinging in the breeze that has come up.  We remember that there is a chance of rain today and the clouds are moving rapidly.  Then the rain chases us inside!
