Day 11 -- August 9, 2021
While exploring near Eagle Nest, we see a sign for Comanche Creek Brewing Company, and we have enjoyed visiting craft breweries, so we decide to check it out. Established in 2010, it is billed as a one of a kind destination for great brews and great views overlooking the Moreno Valley.
We are greeted by Hollie, bartender, and are the only customers there. She tells us a little bit about the different beers they have and shows us a chalkboard menu. Herb chooses the Scully IPA (IBU is 85) which is named for Scully Mountain Peak in the area. No IBU is listed for the Raspberry Wheat, but Hollie assures me is less than 40.
The brewery is not set up to bottle anything except growlers, but our refrigerator in the motorhome does not want anything other than 12 oz. cans at this point. They have a great marketing tact with the window that allows patrons to view the mechanics of the brewing process.
Sales also include tee shirts, but we have plenty, so we simply enjoy our beer.
My favorite sign in the brewery is about the food value of beer.
