Day 18 -- August 15, 2019
We saw many, many lighthouses on our way to Boston and Maine, and actually found a shop that sells figurines of them. Knowing how much Roxie and Ed like lighthouses, we bought a few as gifts for them.
So we invite them to dinner one evening, saying we have some surprises for them.
Ed examines a snow globe containing a lighthouse, while Roxie opens a package with a small figurine.
Now for the real surprise!
Roxie and Patrice have been watching the ongoing TV series of Downton Abbey, and Patrice has sent her a book on the history, the fashion and the house from the movie.
When she opens that package, she cannot contain her surprise and excitement. I quickly get a photo to text to Patrice.
The other three of us are happy that Roxie is so elated, but I ask Ed if he will pose with the book and 'pretend' to be as wowed as she is. He humors me.
