Day 2 -- July 31, 2021
We leave Spirit of Texas Winery in Early TX around 10a in search of another Harvest Host, as last night was so much fun. Early is right near Brownwood, and as we pass through it we can see the rise in elevation, and also feel it, because my ears popped. So now maybe we will soon get to where it is cooler.
In Santa Anna TX we pass Texas Ranger Motel and RV Park, which looks like another fun place to stay some day. It's definitely looking a lot like West Texas with the arid landscape, few bushes, and some hills -- la mesa e el caballo in the lower right corner.
The wide open spaces are a perfect place for a wind farm, but I notice that not many of the blades are turning. How efficient is that?
A long day of driving and we are still in Texas! I call Twin Pine RV Park in Slaton and get lucky. They do have space for us. Sweet Georgia Brown has a home for the night.
