Flashback -- 7/12/2014

After a restful evening, we wake to sunshine warming the temperature from 60-ish and look forward to a great day in Ganges.  With shopping bags in hand, we drive Sapphire into town for the famous Saturday Market.  Herb's eye is tuned to the vendors' faces, as well as the shoppers eager to make their weekly purchases.  I venture to say the whole island is here today!  Parking is tricky.

After walking about the Saturday Market, we next go to Mouat's Department Store for all kinds of stuff.  Fabulous place!

Then to Locals Liquor Store for provisions.  'It's the rules.'  This is what you should do when visiting Ganges.  Market, Mouats, Locals, and any of the other great shops that time permits.

We also note Locals has its own bar and grill.  And music!  A pleasant stop while doing laundry next door.

The Brothers

With chores done, we follow the map Gail gave us to find their house.  We are surprised to see that a previous year when we drove Sapphire all over the island, we came within inches of their home.

Before we see the address on the street, we recognize their cars and know we are in the right place.  Lovely setting carved out of a refreshing forest of several kinds of trees and flowers.  Especially the roses!

As I watch Patrick at the grill, I have an incredible flashback.

Think Gorge Harbour.

Think Patrick grilling and grilling and grilling, feeding many, many Ranger Tug owners....

The super moon we see driving down the steep hill to the marina tells us we are nearing the end of a perfect day.
