South Sound Bound -- Monday, May 27, 2013 -- Day 17

Someone leaked the secret about how wonderful South Sound is, and we vow to spend some time exploring the area this year. As we head toward the locks from Lake Union into Puget Sound, we get a call from David, who tells us about an orange buoy that fell from Laxey just ahead of us.  We are able to retrieve it for Barry without tangling in the line attached.

We see Destiny on our starboard.

June and Herb prepare lines for entering the locks.

Once out of the locks we see stand up paddle boards in the Sound -- no fear!

It is only a short ride to Tacoma, and along with Nellie Too and Cascadia, we have reservations at Dock Street Marina.  Bob suggests dinner at Johnny's Dock Seafood Restaurant, which is across the fairway.

Sounds good, but how do we get there?  We have no car to drive across the bridge to the other side.  Bob has the solution; he gets his dinghy and ferries us to the restaurant.  Two trips.

It is the end of May, Texas is experiencing high 90's and Washington has cool and warm temps all in the same day.  As we leave the restaurant we see the cozy fireplace that makes us want to gather around.
