A Good Day -- Monday, 8/12, 2013 -- Day 18 of Desolation Sound Cruise -- Day 94

Although we do leave Chatterbox Falls today, I just can't seem to 'leave' it yet.  This morning we recall with chuckles the dinner we had last night to commemorate our stay here.  We had a hand written menu which included all courses and the nice bottle of 2009 Millotage we had saved from our visit to Salt Spring Island for a special occasion.

Jake was invited to visit Circle T's cockpit while we dined.

Conversation continues until way after bedtime and we borrow a flashlight from Tym to find our way back to Willie's Tug.  No street lights or dock lights here!

It is a new day now, and we turn our thoughts to moving on farther south.  We have thin fog and can barely see the stream from the top of the mountain sliding down its carved path to become the falls.  Behind us are low lying clouds seen through the fog.  It is 66 degrees with a 40% chance of rain.

I dreamed last night that the blowing spray of the falls slowly revealed a few large snowflakes -- but they were going toward the falls!  No one believes me.

We have light rain at 9A, and at 10A it is like the changing of the guard as boats leave for Malibu Rapids, and new boats arrive, having just come through them.

As we leave the dock, we cruise toward the falls for closer photos.

We look back to see friends at the dock, including Cascadia on the west side and Rum Tum Tugger on the east.

Clouds begin to rise as we cruise back down Queen's Reach, and we see Rum Tum Tugger on our port side.

We call "Securite" at 10:50A and going through Malibu Rapides today is a non event, even smoother than a couple of days ago.

The young people at the Christian Camp wave to us as we go through.

We have a pleasant, yet lumpy trip on to Fisherman's Resort, with two foot seas and whitecaps at times.

No worries for Jake, as he is happy wearing his Thunder Shirt and being with his humans.

Upon our arrival at Fisherman's Resort, boys do what boys do -- look at boats!  But the photo is actually about the colorful sailboat that lives here, with its flowers and all sorts of decorations.

Then we find John Henry's Store for ice cream!  Jo Anne has us line up from the left, as she is the only clerk in the store today.
