Of Friendship and Wine! -- Saturday, June 3, 2017

Herb texts Ray to see how he is and where he is.  Funny thing is that Ray is thinking of us, also.  He says he will come through Seattle on Saturday and will accept our invitation to visit.

We spend some time catching up since the last time we spoke -- how long has it been???,  then he and Herb take a walk in search of a nice restaurant for dinner.   I later learn they walk a serious hill, but I don't think they take any  photos of it.

Returning, they mention several choices after finding more than one pizza restaurant, Yay!  There must be a bit of Italian in my DNA.

I am, and Tym will be, delighted to learn they mention Pasta Freska, which is within walking distance of where Willie's Tug is, still at Selene Yachts Northwest on Lake Union.  Tym had recommended it a few years ago, but we were never close enough to go.

Also Italian!  It is unanimous:  Pasta Freska it is.

As soon as we are seated, Chef Mike comes to our table to ask what our likes and dislikes are.  Meats?  Chicken?  Seafood?  Veggies?  Wine?

Yes.

It is then I learn there is a set menu of your likes, without your dislikes, and the chef chooses the wine, with our approval.  The first course is eggplant parmesan.  Yum!  As more delicious dishes come, we enjoy our dinner, the decor, and the conversation.

Speaking of conversation, one of us who talks with his hands, knocks over a perfectly good glass of dry red wine.  The glass does not break, but the wine spills onto the table, and onto Willie's jeans.  Our waitress quickly comes with a towel soaked with white wine to neutralize the stain.

Herb:  "Oh, Willie, I am so sorry!"

Willie:  "It's OK, accidents happen."

Waitress:  "You can forgive and forget, or you can forget to forgive."  She laughs as she pours him another glass of RED wine.

Not calling any names to indicate the guilty party, but Maria points to Herb.

Which wine is it?

Chianti, of course.

What a fun evening!
