Another 'Peaceful' Day -- 8/10/2014

Except for the bugs, this is very peaceful to be hanging on the hook, and we decide to stay another day.  When the winds have us pointing forward, we see OdySea on the left and Suntour on the right. Richard and Carol on Suntour are from the US and we may see them in Anacortes later in the Summer.

Shallow Passage in Background - Don't go There!

Looking out the cabin door behind us is an area that becomes rapids at high tide, and we see small boats and dinghies crossing.  Here is someone in a kayak.  Will he go through it?

Frank and Dawn-Marie went in their larger dinghy and he describes having to increase speed as they transited in order to keep control.  Even at low tide we hear water running on the other side and wonder if there is a waterfall somewhere near.

Zoomed out, rapids appear small.

Breaking the silence now and then is the call of a raven, but we never see him.

Our restful day is spent enjoying the view and reading.  We have Happy Hour in the cockpit of OdySea and Chris serves cheese biscuits hot out of the oven.  Here again, we have so much conversation with the two other couples that no one thinks to take a photo.

The SPOT shows our location at Potts Lagoon on West Cracroft Island in The Broughtons.  The waterway below is Johnstone Strait and Vancouver Island is to the south.
