It is Saturday night in La Conner and the boats begin to come in, a steady stream for a while; then when we think there are no more out there, several more show up.
The dock fills up both inside and outside by the Swinomish Channel. We think it is because of the week end and good weather, so many folks take advantage and enjoy boating.
But wait! We hear the real reason! Tomorrow is July 1 and the beginning of crab season in this area. These boats are poised to head out in the morning to drop the pots.
And we recall the delicious large steamed Dungeness from last year.......
