The Anacortes Lutheran Church honors nurses and retired nurses today, this being the first day of celebrating Nurses' Week.
All attending introduce themselves and say how many years they served or are still practicing.
The priest, Deb, talks about how important the nursing profession is in keeping people alive -- whether it be in a hospital, nursing home, physician's office, home health or elsewhere. She then gives each one an African violet, which she says is the hardest plant she knows to keep alive. They are now challenged!
