Be Afraid; Be Very Afraid -- 4/30/2014

The sun gives us warming rays to bring the temperature up to 41 from 32 overnight at the 5800 ft. elevation in Colorado.  Happily, we begin our journey with no wind, clip the corner of SW Colorado and drive into Utah.  We come into a farmland area where they grow veggies and raise cattle -- for steak and maybe ice cream?

Farther along we go through Pleasant view, Yellow Jacket and Monticello.  I get really excited about the 6% grade between Price and Provo, and grab the camera quickly.

Ah, so beautiful!

Also pale blues and reddish strata in the hillside along the road.

We see a little snow drift now and then, and some awesome sparkling snow capped mountains, then arrive at Lottie-Dell Campground at Snowville UT.

The owner lives on the grounds, but no one maintains the office.  A sign says to pick your spot, put your money in the envelope and drop into the slot.  We do.

Find Sweet Caroline....

Jake likes this park because there is a nice golf course where he can walk the paths and a very large open pasture where he can run and run and run.  Also nearby is a horse pen with one strand of barbed wire to keep them in, but Dr. Jake can go under it.

Jake wants to play with them and his tail wagging shows it; however, the horses are not interested.  One of them catches Jake off guard and nudges him with his nose so quickly Herb is not able to get a photo.

Dr. Jake is one lucky dog and stays on his side of the fence the rest of the afternoon!

Jake, be afraid.  Be very afraid!
