Victoria, BC, Again - 8/31, 2012

Excited to visit Victoria again this Summer, we get an early start at 6A to take advantage of calmer winds crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca.  As David promised, I see glorious skies of pinks and oranges as the sun rises.

Destiny in the Sunrise

As expected, we see quite a few ferries and take care to stay out of their way.

We go south of Lopez Island and across Haro Strait on a fairly kind sea.  Jake enjoys his ride in the cockpit.

Now and then it gets bouncey with confused seas and rips.

Herb checks the progress of a cargo ship, and sees that she will cross behind us.

Side View is Good!

We have a pleasant cruise on into Victoria.

Find Willie's Tug.......

First on the agenda is provisioning.  We walk several blocks to The Market and also happen upon a liquor store.

We forget to bring our hand cart, but David is prepared.  What won't fit in the backpack is carried in the carton.
