An Evening in Dabob Cove - 9/10/2012

On Monday morning Toni and I take another walk into town to be sure we have not missed any shops, and continue to enjoy the scenery of the picturesque town.

We are invited for dinner to the home of Dan and Tanya Denver, C-Dory friends of Russ and Toni, and whom we met at Ganges Marina last year.  It will be great to see them again.

Tanya picks us up in her car to drive the short 35 minute trip (at Tanya's speeds), rather than our taking one of the boats.  Cruising would take us south in Liberty Bay, then north in Puget Sound around Point No Point and Foul Weather Bluff, south again in Hood Canal, and around the southern tip of Toandos Peninsula.  Long, long trip.  We might have missed dinner and gotten there by dessert.   Maybe ....

By car Tanya takes us north from Poulsbo to cross Hood Canal near Port Gamble, then southwest to Dabob Cove, their gated community on Toandos Peninsula.   Their residence is on a cliff overlooking Dabob Bay in a beautiful wooded setting.   The trees and ferns are beautiful.

Jake has plenty of yard in which to run, jump, play and search for rabbits.  Oh, he isn't a rabbit dog!  Maybe he is looking for birds.

Then he is invited in to visit with Tanya's dog, a beautiful Husky named Hannah, but he makes a mistake and takes her toy.  Hannah spends the evening ignoring Jake and retrieving her toys at every chance.  I regret that my photo of her is not in focus.

Find Hannah's toy

After Happy Hour and a tour of the house,  (Tanya's window -- thanks, Bruce)

... we are served a delicious dinner from Dan's grill and Tanya's kitchen.  It is a very lovely evening.
