Escape to Friday Harbor, WA

With Willie's Tug now in A-1 condition, we head for Friday Harbor for a short get-away.

The water is calm and the trip is peaceful and rather uneventful, except for sightings of the ferries.

Upon arrival, we are told to find a slip, so we settle in on one of the guest docks.

Find Willie's Tug.

Somewhere out there

As we walk Jake around the grounds, we hear a voice behind us telling us that we are not allowed to have dogs here.  We would have been offended, except that we recognize the voice of our good friend, Jim Bathurst, from Port Isabel.

For the Summer, Jim is Captain of a whale watching boat based in Friday Harbor, and is just returning from his day's work.  Joan joins the three of us for a leisurely lunch to catch up on the news.

We then walk them back to their boat to say "Hello" to kitty Izzy, who takes one look at Jake, leaps back into the boat, hissing loudly.  Her little face speaks volumes.  Oh, well, Jake, maybe next time.....
