Day 18 - Monday, August 1, 2022
Daisy Barn Campground, Wilson NY
It is exciting that we are getting closer to New York, and I take a photo of each highway sign that I see, in case it is significant to our trip. We see Buffalo and Cleveland, then State Line, which is in Ripley and the border between Pennsylvania and New York.
Ah, the Welcom sign -- "Experience - Explore - Enjoy"
I'm sure we will. On the right are vineyards for the winery.
I get even more excited to see Lakes Erie and Ontario on our left. My camera barely gets a glimpse of the lake, because it is on the driver's side.
Excitement turns to fear and panic as we begin to see signs ahead for the Peace Bridge between the United States and Canada. Surely, surely our GPS and mapping program have not directed us onto the wrong road. There are no signs saying "If you made a wrong turn, exit here." (A little bit of humor here.) We continue toward Buffalo and enjoy the skyline of the city.
But what if, just if, we get on the Peace Bridge. We do have our Nexus passes and passports with us, so hopefully we can turn around soon and return to the United States.
OK, relax now. We are not in the lane leading to the Peace Bridge and Canada! We arrive safely to our campground for the evening, Daisy Barn in Wilson, NY.
