A Walk Along the Seawall in Wells, Maine

 Day 25 - Monday, August 8, 2022

Duval's RV Park, Wells, ME

Today I join Herb for a walk on the beach.  We drive out of the RV park, turn right onto a side street, then right again onto Highway 1, or Post Road.  Our second turn to the right is Eldridge Street, which takes us to the beach.

It is a sunny day and I love seeing the sun reflected on the waves as the surf rolls onto the beach.  We walk from one end of the seawall to the other, and stop to watch a lady and her son enjoy their dog's swim.

Let's see now -- the wet dog walks across the sand and gets into their car to go home.  At South Padre Island we let Dr. Jake swim, then towelled him off with what we called a 'dog towel.'  Then home to get a bath in his personal tub on the patio, and watch him roll in the grass to get drier than we could get him.  Then once he was dry, I brushed the grass out of his fur, as well as gobs of loose fur from that sweet Golden Retriever.

I take a moment to photograph some architecture, so typical of the coastal area.  This building has several apartments to rent for people who spend more than the couple of hours that we do today.

There's a nice cool ocean breeze, so I dress not only for comfort, but as a block of the sun's UV rays.  I walk down the stairs leading from the street in the upper right of the photo to walk on the sandy shore, but on returning to our car, I try to find some grass to clean the soles of my shoes.
