It's Been a Hard Day's Night - 10/10/2012

It is time for Willie's Tug to continue her journey south, so she is tied to the courtesy dock awaiting the red truck to fetch her.

Find Wilie's Tug ....  Find Wild Blue ....

A last look at the dam that makes Lake Powell,

a last look at Wild Blue heading south,

and a first look at the Colorado River flowing south of the dam.

We again have beautiful views, still in Arizona.

Heading toward Gallup NM, go miles and miles with no sign of communities, but now and then we see small towns and settlements.

The children must have a long bus ride to school.

We stop in a small town for diesel, and as Jake takes a walk, he is accompanied by the resident dogs.  What personality they have!  They try to get into the truck with him, and one jumps up and licks Herb on the hand to see if has a treat for them.

Back on the road again, I am shocked.

Pine trees!

Where did they come from?

After all the rock and barren land we are seeing, I am amazed to find tall trees!

We arrive at USA RV Park in Gallup about 6P, and I quickly gather laundry supplies for the evening chore.

It is a hard day's night, as we have no concert, no party.

  2. We bet you went through Kayenta on The Navajo Reservation. We spent 5 years, 1970-75 there teaching at a Federal Boarding School. Very interesting place to live and learn.
