Days 70 and 71 - Anacortes WA - Mon. and Tues., Sept. 6 and 7, 2010

Guinnes and Lilly in pen
Time is getting short for everyone's stay in Anacortes and we have the final dinner together Tuesday at Lee's site.  The pups, Guinnes and Lilly, are in their play-pen for a time, until we can't resist holding them on our laps.  The evening is starting to cool, so someone lights the campfire logs.

Colleen

During Happy Hour Colleen shows off her sunglasses chain.

It is then that I learn that Sharon makes them as her craft and she takes me to her motor home where she has twenty displayed -- all sorts of designs in the wiring.

Sharon and Fred with Guinnes

I choose one with my favorite colors of red, silver, gold and a touch of fuchsia.

Willie's Eyeglass Chain

It is a joyful gathering and tears are postponed until morning when we all plan to part.

Roger of the C-Dory Sensei called to invite us to dinner, so we take off with him for our first Chinese food in many weeks.

He lives on the road to Camino Island, not too far away, and farms potatoes and feed corn for dairies.  He describes in detail the many steps involved in bringing the potatoes from planting to harvest.

Herb and Roger

As the day comes to a close, Herb and I reflect on the many people have met on this trip who have become friends instantly.

Life is good.
