Rub a Dub Trips, Four Boats in the Slips-- Monday, July 17, 2017

With one clean car, our plan is to drive the Jeep Grand Cherokee to Costco in Burlington, stopping by the Blue Cow car wash to make it clean again.  So off we go, getting our favorite deli purchases, and making sure we take advantage of the tasting stations scattered about in the food section.  A very popular one samples four kinds of sausage – Herb prefers one, I prefer another, so we get both!

In Anacortes Safeway and The Market are within walking distance of Cap Sante Marina, so if you need a fresh banana or other item, it is so convenient to replenish quickly. Hey, but you can’t beat Costco for many things!

Returning to Willie’s Tug with our supplies, we see we have been joined by a 40 ft. sailboat from Friday Harbor, which has tied astern.  A powerboat I’m guessing about 46 ft. rafts to the sailboat behind us.  She sure looks tall.

Soon a 36-ish ft. sailboat comes up to raft to us, and the folks say they are returning from Olympia and on the way home to Victoria BC.  We visit with them a bit and share that we were with friends in the Wharf Street Marina in the year 2012 during the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.  I remember the lovely view of The Empress Hotel and the Parliament Building.

Looking at all four boats filling the reciprocal slips, Herb and I laugh about being on the inside, and if we needed to make 'an emergency' getaway, we would have to get Scottie to beam us up!
