Excitement on Ballard Ave -- 6/13/2014

This morning's walk with Dr. Jake takes us along Shilshole Ave toward a police car with lights flashing red, then blue, and bright red flares blocking off 22nd Ave, which we like to take when we go into the shopping area.  Keeping to the sidewalk we see people in the middle of the intersection of 22nd and Ballard Ave, with a few curious spectators hanging around.

We stop to investigate, when a young man approaches and informs us there is a commercial shoot about to take place.  How exciting!

He asks us not to cross the street in front of the camera -- and of course we would not.  I do not speak for Dr. Jake, as he would probably dash over to the camera crew to get petted.  Herb keeps a tight grip on his leash.

We ask what product the commercial will film and the answer is "tires."  While we wait we try to imagine how they will stage it.  Will the car be traveling at a high rate of speed and corner on very safe tires?

We do see several takes, but of course the sound is not done here, so we don't yet know the message.  We will watch for the commercial on TV, so we will know what brand to buy -- or where to buy them....

"Take 1"

The camera man follows the action.  All four wheels are on the ground.

"Take 3"

A dove flies to the center of the intersection, hoping to be included in the action, but is too late as the black car makes its pass for filming.

"Look, Mom, I'm a star!"
