Old Man River

Day 4 - Monday, July 18, 2022

Tom Sawyer's RV Park, West Memphis AR

A seven hour trip gets us to our next destination at Tom Sawyer's RV Park, a little more pricey than the COE parks, but we have a concrete pad with full hook-ups, and StarLink can see the satellite.  We will have instant Internet and regular television channels.

What I see are clouds building vertically, and I suspect we will get some rain here soon.

We are so excited about the location of this park, right on the banks of The Big Muddy, which is one the nicknames of the Mississippi River.   Late in the afternoon we see the barges towing their loads, most of which travel south.  It is cool to be at a bend of the river, and we continue to watch to see one of the barges towing north upriver.

We are awakened at 2 in the morning, hearing the rain peppering the roof of Sweet Georgia Brown; it sounds so peaceful and we fall back asleep.
