Day 129 - Island Park ID - Friday, September 16, 2011

Days always begin with Jake's exercise walk, and today is very special because he gets to go off leash in David's big back yard to run and play with yellow lab Annie up the steep hill.  To make it even more exciting, he takes advantage of his freedom and rolls and rolls in the grass.

So why is Herb surprised to find to find thousands of seeds and burrs in Jake's long fur?

When David comes back from the walk without Herb, he tells us that Herb is in the bunkhouse brushing Jake -- for an hour!

Daddy, you missed one.

I think Jake will walk on leash tomorrow.

Especially since I spend another hour hand picking small seeds that don't brush out.

LaSerda del Norte is remodeled from a cabin built in 1930 by Joseph Sherwood, the fourth white man to settle this part of Indian country in Idaho.  David did much of the work himself, leaving the original structure and adding where necessary.

A visit  here is not complete without a trip to our favorite pizza restaurant in West Yellowstone, Wild West Pizzeria.

And then nap time for all.

More touring of the house...........
Master suite ....

Neighbors come for dinner.  Al and Melba are friends from Longview, and their daughter and husband from near them in Hawkins, Texas.

Can you see the waterfall in the stream by the side of the cabin?  It will lull us to sleep tonight.
