Legendary Benefits of Fire Weed Vodka -- 7/19/2015

As much as we love Sitka, we will hold her in our hearts as we leave tomorrow to begin our return trip south.  Today we provision.  Yep, the liquor store in the supermarket is open on Sunday, so we check our needs there.

What?  Fire Weed Vodka?  What would that taste like?

The fireweed flower is dear to us because of the legend that when the blooms at the top have opened, it is time for Southerners to head home!  It will snow soon!

A closer look at the label shows the flower has not bloomed all the way to the top, so perhaps we should purchase the bottle to have aboard just in case we don't get far enough south soon.  This, plus a large bouquet of Devil's Club.

The grocery store has a marketing strategy:  If you purchase $100 worth of supplies, they will get you a free taxi ride home.  This is especially attractive to us in view of the long, long walk back to the marina with only a small West Marine cart to carry our provisions.

And it is raining!

Our total comes to well over $100, just as it does on a regular basis at HEB, our home store in Texas.  We qualify, and Herb stands ready to load our bags into the waiting taxi.

No! No! No!  We do not buy Smoked Salmon Flavored Vodka!!!
