Be -- 9/8/2014

Willie's Tug and MoonShadow wake to see fog in Port Ludlow Marina.  What happened to the predicted glorious weather?  Oh, well, we are just glad it happened for the Rendezvous and will sit a bit to see when it clears.  Herb and Bruce check the currents to learn the best time to cast off is around 11A.  Vicki investigates conditions at the entrance to Hood Canal and at today's destination, Pleasant Harbor Marina -- both clear!

Good to go!

The glass turns to rippled as we round the point to enter Hood Canal southbound.  We experience a slight chop along the way under clouds in shades of gray covering the sky.

There is something to be said for the serenity of a smooth cruise for miles and miles.  Peaceful, and you can just be....

One point of interest is the Hood Canal Bridge, which calls to mind Herb and my car trip on Hwy 104, then Hwy 101 to the beautiful Dabob Bay area a few years ago.

As we pass Point Hannon, the fiery ball burns through a few clouds at the same time as a porpoise briefly surfaces on our port side.  Could we have an exciting show as yesterday?

No.

We have sightings at three different times, but the creatures do not come up long enough for my camera to shoot.

If you wait long enough, the sun will chase away the clouds to expose the clarity of the scenery.  This photo is from the port window as we leave the large overhead clouds behind.

Off our bow as we arrive to Pleasant Harbor Marina  are the awesome Olympic Mountains reaching up into the soft floating clouds and treating our eyes to their evergreen forests at the lower level.

We look forward to enjoying the amenities of the pool and hot tub, as well as the scenery.
