Day 55 - Wednesday, September 7, 2022
Carrollwoods RV Campground and Winery, Tabor City, NC
This campground is so large that we don't get to explore it all in one day, so today we walk over to the right as we exit the campground, and around a pond next to the wine tasting room. As I photograph the fountain and ducks swimming in the sky blue pond, Herb walks ahead and is followed by one of the curious ducks. I don't think he knows he has an admirer.
The vineyard seems to be calling to us, and we learned yesterday that the grapes grown here are of the muscadine variety. They grow along a wire that is strung between posts, and a closeup photo shows there are different colors of grapes.
Nearer to the tasting room we find a strange looking container that I assume contains fermenting grapes.
A sculpture of St. Francis of Assisi greets us as we make our way toward the front entrance to the RV Campground and Vineyard, where we see the entire pond and main building with its barn-red tile roof. A dark cloud looms behind us and we hope it waits to drop its load until we are safely back in the RV.
