Roots -- 10/13/2014

Sweet Caroline takes us safely down the highways to our destination of Avinger TX and we just have time to park on the lot of our billboard sign, which we now call "Avinger #2 RV Park."

Then the rains come!  Hard downpours!  We are so glad we are safely off the road, warm and dry.

Time to relax.  Doctor Jake shows how it is done.

Soon he alerts us to the silence on the roof -- the rain has stopped, so we take a walk outside in the fresh air.

We tell Doctor Jake about the time we lived in Avinger at Herb's Texas Blueberry Farm with our first Golden Retriever, Champ, and a Shih Tzu-Cocker mix named Pepe LePew.  To ensure pollination of the blueberry blooms in the Spring, we transported bees and hives from Baton Rouge to the farm, making the six hour trip during the night while the bees were dormant.

All but one.

As shadows lengthen, we take Jake back inside the motor home and walk the short distance across the street to Avinger Pizza and Subs Restaurant.
