Up the Down Ladder -- 7/5/2014

One thing I love about the Boyd cabin is how it is nestled on the steep hillside, with a gondola to transport people and/or provisions up and down.  Even the front deck facing the lake is a 'floor' above the ground.

Inside there is a second level above the main living area with guest rooms; the stair steps leading up is salvage from an actual ship.  Cool!  I love the rail and get quite adept at scooting up (slowly and carefully, actually), but we don't allow Dr. Jake to go that way.  We direct him to the side door which connects to a catwalk ending on the hill and to the trails that lead beyond.

Just so Boomer won't miss him so much when he leaves tomorrow, Dr. Jake gives him a toy to keep him occupied.  It is a little squeaky pig, and appropriate because the card says something about herding....
